It is okay to be scared, but it is important to be courageous.

Patrice Ford Lyn

My Professional Background: I have been working in strategic planning and organizational development for more than 18 years and personal transformation and wellness for more than eight years.  I am a certified professional coach, reiki practitioner, and skilled facilitator/trainer.

As a member of various wellness communities, I have planned, facilitated and participated in numerous personal transformation retreats and offerings. I have worked with key thinkers in wellness communities including Coaching for Transformation, the Respectful Confrontation community,  the Inner Journey community, the Washington DC Insight Meditation community and the Unity of Washington DC spiritual community.  The skills I have honed as a management consultant coupled with my passion for wellness and personal transformation have provided a valuable combination in helping my clients to build the lives they want.

My Personal Background:  I know it can feel scary to take risks.  I have taken many big risks and felt the tremendous emotions that accompanied them.  At times I had support and at times I didn't.  Having support made all the difference.  As someone who has been on both sides of the coach - client relationship,  I understand the vulnerability it takes to share your experiences, fears, and desires.  I will create and maintain a safe space for you to explore your truth as you figure out how to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

Who I work with:  My clients come from all walks of life.  What unites them is that they each feel a disconnect between the lives they have and the lives they want. Translation - they feel stuck.

Special note: I have developed a deep awareness of the ongoing societal pressures faced by marginalized groups and an appreciation for the ways these truths can manifest in their lives.  As such it is vital that members of marginalized communities, those working with marginalized communities and/or in trauma rich environments have safe spaces for reflection and rejuvenation.  Therefore, it is important to me that the disability community; immigrants, people of color and various nationalities; LGBTQIA and gender non-conforming individuals: members of religious minorities; and members of polyamorous and non-monogamous communities know they have a safe space with me.

My Beliefs:

  • Every person is connected to their truth, even if they don’t know it yet
  • Every person is resourceful
  • Every person is whole, even if they feel broken
  • Every person has more possibilities than initially imaginable
It’s never too late for a new beginning in your life.
